Valerie June: Blues Breaker

Valerie June is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Blues, gospel, soul, country, hill music, it’s all there in her sound. She made a big splash with her debut album PUSHING AGAINST THE STONE. Now she is back with a bigger splash, THE ORDER OF TIME. This tune is a little more rock and roll, but still, given the way she makes music, very old school, a juke joint, pre-sixties shaker. This track is called “Shakedown.”
