Robert Cray has been crossing back and forth between soul, blues, and Rhythm and blues for decades now, bringing us his distinctive clean sound. Now he has signed with soul label Jay-Vee Records. He and producer Steve Jordan aimed to make an actual old school soul record, enlisting the aid of Hi Rhythm, the house band for folks like Al Green, Ann Peebles, and Otis Clay.
