Under the Hood: Larry McCray on Growing up in Arkansas
Larry McCray is a dynamic blues guitarist who started putting out records in the early 90s. He has gigged with everyone from Albert Collins to the Allman Brothers. Like many blues artists, Larry McCray has a rural background. He grew up on his parents’ farm in Magnolia, Arkansas, and he says that experience made him the man he is today.
I think it gave me a lot of character, and made me understand a lot of things and appreciate a lot of things that people who haven’t seen that side of life couldn’t relate with. But definitely I think it made me stronger, because I try to have compassion and patience for everybody. – Larry McCray
