The Bluesmobile takes a swing through the modern soul revival, with the new release from Lee Fields and the Expressions, who began his career in the gilded age of soul as a James Brown imitator, but soon grew into a unique innovator, huge in Europe and now looking to find that love back home. Also, the late and wonderful Sharon Jones, Charles Bradley, the James Hunter Six and more. The show wraps up with brand new music from the ever young John Mayall.
Hour 2: Danielle Nicole
With her two brothers, Danielle Nicole was part of the respected Kansas City blues band, Trampled Under Foot. Now she is on her own, and joins Elwood to tell us what she’s up to. Her solo release is called WOLF DEN. Plus music from the ace who produced her record, Anders Osborne. Also a mini-tribute to some other KC musicians, including Albert King, and Big Joe Turner.
