Hour 1: JW Jones

Elwood makes room for the good looking and talented Canadian JW Jones, whose hot new release is called HIGH TEMPERATURE. Also, he gives a listen to some of the best Canadian blues and rock, including Neil Young, the Jeff Healey Band, and the Band. Also some tracks from Canadian guitar man Colin Linden (who produced JW’s release), and Buddy Guy. Rhiannon Giddens will close out the show, with some great roots music from her epic new release, FREEDOM HIGHWAY.

Hour 2: Father’s Day Blues

Elwood presents blues for Father’s Day – from the fathers of the blues, as well as their offspring! Sons of fathers, and Daddy’s daughters to celebrate Father’s Day this week: Mud Morganfield and Big Bill Morganfield are Muddy Waters’s children. Elwood will also play John Lee Hooker Junior and daughter Zakiya Hooker. Plus Johnny Copeland’s daughter, Shemekia, Otis Taylor’s daughter, Cassie, and Jonnie Taylor’s daughter, Tasha.
