Nancy Wright: Blues Breaker

Nancy Wright started out studying the classical bassoon in her native Ohio. Maybe she ran out of pieces to play. Whatever the reason, Nancy turned to the saxophone, moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, and became the go-to gal for people like John Lee Hooker, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Albert King… Then Nancy forged her own path. For her latest, called PLAYDATE!, she invited guest stars to jump in… Tommy Castro, Elvin Bishop, Joe Louis Walker, and soul singer Wee Willie Walker. Here, she is joined by the Plymouth Church of Jazz and Justice Choir out of Oakland. Nancy Wright and “Satisfied.”

AIR DATES: December 17-18, 2016
