Elwood’s Blues Breaker: Royal Southern Brotherhood “Don’t Look Back”

Guitar man Mark Zito, and percussionist Cyril Neville recorded together, and got the idea of forming a band.   They enlisted Devon Allman, and there you had it, three front men.  One instant supergroup.  The Royal Southern BrotherhoodTheir first record combined all their histories of funk, blues, rock, you name it, into a tasty mix that caught fire with critics and music lovers alike. Bit of a lineup change this time around with Bart Walker stepping in for Mark Zito. And Tyrone Vaughan, son of Jimmie, stepping in for Devon Allman.   But the band is bigger than the sum of its parts.  And with Cyril Neville at the heart – it is always funky. Recorded at Muscle Shoals with legendary producer Tom Hambridge.    This is The Royal Southern Brotherhood and “Don’t Look Back.”
