Elwood’s Blues Breaker: Rhiannon Giddens “Up Above My Head”

It’s been an exciting time for the incredibly talented Rhiannon Giddens, long-time member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Rhiannon was invited to be part of the New Basement tapes, a tribute to Bob Dylan.  And the man who put that together, the great T. Bone Burnett, has produced Rhiannon’s first solo album. It’s called TOMORROW IS MY TURN, a sweet and stirring collection of roots music and blues. Here is a cover of a Sister Rosetta Tharpe gospel tune, “Up Above My Head.”

Check it out this weekend on the Radio Show

AIR DATES: March 28-29, 2015
