Elwood’s Blues Breaker: Otis Taylor “Cold At Midnight”

Otis Taylor, pioneer of trance blues, is back with his fourteenth CD.   It spins tales of thwarted love, shared love, and how life’s decisions can either come back to bite us, or give us a big hug.   There are some really lovely instrumentals on this release, with guitarist Warren Haynes and violinist Anne Harris sitting in.  The album is called HEY JOE OPUS RED MEAT, with not one but two killer versions of the standard, “Hey Joe.”  But for this week’s Blues Breaker, I have chosen a sad song about a man who believes his woman has left him and gone to Mexico. Otis Taylor.  “Cold At Midnight.”

Check it out this weekend on the Radio Show
