David Bromberg Band: Blues Breaker
David Bromberg had a long career as a session musician. He’d play dobro, mandolin, pedal steel, and any kind of guitar you got. He can play pretty much any style of music you name, and play it well. He also earned a cult following for his witty songwriting and dynamic stage shows. David Bromberg took time off for fifteen years or so, to sell and repair violins. He came back in 2007, and ever since has been making records whenever he feels like it. His latest is called THE BLUES, THE WHOLE BLUES, AND NOTHING BUT THE BLUES. Of course, he puts his own spin on it. Take this song. 900 Miles is a rather pretty folk song, recorded many times. Leave it to David Bromberg to make it sound like Howlin’ Wolf. David Bromberg. 900 Miles.
