Back to the Blues: Richard Young of Kentucky Headhunters and Phil Collen of Def Leppard

Many musicians not otherwise known for playing the blues have put out blues records. Some of them, you might say, are even going back to the blues. We will hear Cyndi Lauper, the Spin Doctors, and Tom Jones. And Phil Collen, the guitar man from Def Leppard, has formed his own blues band, DELTA DEEP. Elwood will play that. And an album recorded back in 2003, MEET ME IN BLUESLAND, has just now been released. It features southern rockers the Kentucky Headhunters, with Chuck Berry’s legendary piano man, Johnnie Johnson. That will be played. Plus, tracks from Chuck Berry, Ike and Tina Turner, and new music from Mississippi blues man, Mr. Sipp.
